In the 21st century, libraries’ Electronic Resources are a much-needed, but very expensive, resource for our community that supports life-long learning. Sponsoring all (or part of) these resources would be a great way for you to show that your business or organization values life-long learning. The library is currently looking for a sponsor for this tremendous resource.

The library currently offers free online tutoring available 7 days a week, from 2 p.m. – 11 p.m. for grades K-12.

The JTPL Foundation was awarded a $20,249 major grant from Samtec Care for its Multimedia for Everyone program at the Jeffersonville Library.

In an effort to focus on STEM, the Jeffersonville Township Public Library provided “Science to Go” backpacks through a Powerful Communities Grant from the Duke Energy Foundation.  Each backpack had a specific science theme and contained books, hands-on activities, and experiments on that theme. The library created 30 backpacks with money received from the Powerful Communities Grant.  Fifteen backpacks were made available at both the Jeffersonville and Clarksville locations.

Thanks to an $80,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, the Jeffersonville Township Public Library will be constructing a pocket park with structures for active, imaginative play designed to accommodate all children – including those with intellectual and physical differences

To supplement the Community Foundation’s donation, Palmer Roofing and Sheet Metal has donated $1,500 for the musical instruments that will be located in the park.

First Savings Bank raised over $2,000 for the Jeffersonville Township Public Library Foundation via employee donations during the summer of 2023. Thank you for your support!

The Bales Foundation donated $50,000, which helped double the size of the pocket park and provided major funding for the Know and Grow Play Garden. Now, we have expanded our reach further onto Court Avenue, as well as on the roof of the downtown Jeffersonville branch!

Another friend of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library is New Washington State Bank. The local bank has been very generous during the Library Giving Days. In 2023, New Washington State Bank generously donated $500 for Library Giving Day. This donation helped purchase furniture for the Know and Grow Play Garden.

How to Get Involved

At the JTPLF, we would like to offer even more training in building our communities tech skills. But like many things in life, these resources are currently cost prohibitive for the library.

Sponsoring one of these resources would be a great way to support the local economy and community.  These resources provide workers who live in Southern Indiana the opportunity to increase their skill-sets at their own pace at no cost to them.  Not only will this increase in skills help individuals compete for higher-paying jobs, but it will increase the pool of qualified applicants for local businesses.
